History: Lake Tawakoni State Park is a 376.3-acre park in Hunt County with 5.2 miles of shoreline along the south central shore of the main body of the reservoir. It was acquired in 1984. The park was authorized through a 50 year lease agreement with the Sabine River Authority, which operates the 36,700-surface-acre reservoir (at elevation 437.5) and Iron Bridge Dam, on the headwaters of the Sabine River.

Imagine as you stroll along your average nature trail and you stumble upon this?  How do you react?  To some this is your worst nightmare but to others this is an amazing micro society just waiting to be explored and studied.  I say little but really compare it to your average spider web....geeeeze! not little!

This web was discovered in August 2007.  So how long did it take to make this maticulas marvel you may ask...the amount of time may astound you.  This web was discovered only after two weeks of absense by the usual park ranger that walks this trail.  Wow what a welcome home present right?!52350.jpg

Inside this web are the homes to 250 species of spiders whom spend lots of hours working and living.  If you are interested in finding out more please visit http://texasento.net/Social_Spider.htm and see a more detailed event of this spectacular find!

Who knows you may even want to go there yourself! There are two more smaller webs too!  So explore a little...be BRAVE, Bringing Recycling Agriculture Vitality to Earth...and the other brave too!
